Peter Krcho, MD, PhD. is an university teacher in the position of assistant professor at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University, From 2005 to 2018 he held the position of Head of the Neonatology Clinic of the Faculty of Medicine, from 2005 to 2020 he organized 9 international neonatology conferences for the CEE region, He is the author / co-author of 115 original scientific papers, cited 54 times. The papers deal mainly with the prevention of hypoxia and hyperoxia, energy balance for optimal brain development and neurological functions. From 1996 to 2002, he coordinated an international cooperation project between WIHRI Providence USA and FNsP in Košice Slovakia called Mother and Child. Since 1991, he has been intensively involved in neonatal resuscitation, ultrasonography of various organ systems (brain, lungs, heart, kidneys, liver, spleen, adrenal glands, intestine) in neonates. Since 2020, he is the head of the neonatal unit  of the Perinatal center UNLP in Košice Slovakia.
