Title: Early Insure in late preterm and term newborns on CPAP during 22 month of Covid 19 pandemy

Abstract

The study presenting the outcome and  management of the late preterm and term  newborns  in perinatal center in Eastern Slovakia. The data collections started in March 2020, when the first vawe of Covid  19 pandemy started.  The main  target  was to keep more newborns  together with their mother .  Complicated neonatal cases after   delivery   were usually all transported to the NICU of the Pediatric hospital, but always  without mother . The aim was to support more effectively the transition  period and continue the care together with mother. The number if newborns on CPAP or HFNC increased from 0,24 % to 3,7 % from all, plus 34 of late preterm and term newborns was treated with InSurE. The study will made a deeper analysis of the  outcome of the newborns managed together with their mothers.

Biography

Peter Krcho, MD, PhD. is an university teacher in the position of assistant professor at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University, From 2005 to 2018 he held the position of Head of the Neonatology Clinic of the Faculty of Medicine, from 2005 to 2020 he organized 9 international neonatology conferences for the CEE region, He is the author / co-author of 115 original scientific papers, cited 54 times. The papers deal mainly with the prevention of hypoxia and hyperoxia, energy balance for optimal brain development and neurological functions. From 1996 to 2002, he coordinated an international cooperation project between WIHRI Providence USA and FNsP in Košice Slovakia called Mother and Child. Since 1991, he has been intensively involved in neonatal resuscitation, ultrasonography of various organ systems (brain, lungs, heart, kidneys, liver, spleen, adrenal glands, intestine) in neonates. Since 2020, he is the head of the neonatal unit  of the Perinatal center UNLP in Košice Slovakia.
